How do I request a search?

Searches may be requested:

Fill out the form as completely as possible.  For best results we encourage you to discuss your search requirements with the librarian.  This can be done in person on on the phone.

I've submitted a search request. What happens next?

  • Literature searches are run on a first come first served basis and take between 3 and 5 business days.
  • Emergency patient care searches are completed within 4 hours.

  • Search results are emailed to you as a list of citations with abstracts (when available)
  • Included in the list is a link to Full Text Finder, which tells you if we hold the item or not.
    • If we hold the item, Full Text Finder provides a link directly to the article.
    • If we do not hold the item, Full Text Finder provides a link to order the article through the Library's Interlibrary Loan Service.  The link opens a request form with the article information pre-populated.  Once you have filled out your information click on the submit button and the request will be emailed to the Library's department email.
